KDS Students Presented with J.A.C. Awards
The Hunt's Spring Chapter, NSDAR, held its annual Junior American Citizens awards ceremony on Thursday, March 12, in Becker-Horton Hall. The theme for the 2025-26 contest was "Celebrating 250 Years of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness: Happy Birthday America! 1776–2026!". Student-Athletes Recognized at Signing Day
A number of KDS senior student-athletes recently signed letters of commitment to pursue their sports and educational goals in college. Shayna Russell will play volleyball at Snead State Community College. She plans on earning a degree in nursing. Nataly Grimmett will play softball at Snead State Community College. Congratulations Lady Patriots Volleyball Teams!
Congratulations to all four KDS DAR Volleyball teams who recently completed very successful seasons. While winning two of the four Marshall County Tournaments, the girls’ hard work and determination has shown up not only on the court but also in the classroom with all the players maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA. The Varsity team finished the season at 34-21, with a very demanding schedule. They played and defeated several large schools this season and won the county schools

Congratulations to KDS senior Bailey Kendrick on winning the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A Cross Country State Championship. A dedicated and determined competitive runner, Bailey also has earned state championships in the 1600 and 3200 meter distances in both the indoor and outdoor competitions this year.

KDS Junior Wins Inaugural Marshall County 3-Point Competition
KDS junior Hudson Broadway has been named the champion of the inaugural Marshall County 3-point Competition. One player was chosen to represent each of the eight high schools in Marshall County, with the competition being held during halftime of the Alabama vs. Auburn wheelchair basketball game at Sand Mountain Park in Albertville. Hudson sank thirteen 3-pointers in the final round to win the championship. Congratulations, Hudson!
