KDS DAR School 2026 Student representatives Gillian Head and Clint Carter brought greetings and introduced themselves during the Opening Night Ceremony at the 128th Alabama Society Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference in Auburn. They were also presented with the DAR Youth Leadership Medal by State Regent Malinda Williams on behalf of the Alabama Society.
The DAR Youth Leadership Medal was established to foster among school-aged children a greater appreciation of the qualities of citizenship Americans must possess if our country is to remain sovereign and independent. This medal is presented to a student (male or female), in grades 5-11, who exemplifies the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism.
Gillian and Clint were chosen to represent the KDS student body and perform the role of ambassadors during the coming year. In addition to speaking during the Opening Night Ceremony, they worked at the KDS booth during the conference, selling promotional items to support the school's mission and talking with Daughters about their school.
