KDS junior Bailey Kendrick has been an avid runner for quite some time and now his hard work and perseverance have earned him not one, but two, championships in the State Indoor Track Meet in Birmingham. Bailey won both the 1600- and the 3200-meter runs.
The 1600-meter championship run became dramatic when Bailey fell with 450 meters to go, then rolled over, sprang up and kept on going. “I stepped on the railing and went down,” he said. “It was just instinctive to roll up and hit the gas.”
Congratulations, Bailey, on not one, but two state championships!
