KDS DAR School was honored to take part in the 133rd Continental Congress of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington, D.C. June 23 – June 30. KDS Executive Director Heather Green, Development Director Jason Hodges, Board Chair Melvina Phillips, KDS Alumna Lauren Buchanan, and student representatives Kenley Owens and Brody Smith enjoyed an eventful and fun-filled week of meeting with Daughters from across the country to share the KDS story.

KDS is one of five DAR Approved Schools to be featured during Continental Congress.
In addition to working daily at the school’s booth, the group had the pleasure of attending numerous events including Opening Night Ceremonies, the Alabama-Mississippi “Southern Sunrise” Breakfast, the Illinois Supper, the Texas Tea, the California Tea, the Units Overseas Luncheon, the Michigan Brunch, the Education Luncheon, and the Junior Membership Luncheon.
