KDS Artists Excel at Congressional Show

Updated: Apr 22

Each year, KDS art students participate in the Congressional Art Competition sponsored by Congressman Robert Aderholt. The requirement for participation is that each piece must be 100 percent original. This year, 19 pieces of artwork were submitted including paintings, drawings, photographs, collages and mixed media pieces. Four artists were honored in this year’s show, bringing home Best of Show, one 1st place ribbon, and two 2nd place ribbons out of the show’s total 195 entries.

“I am so proud of all my artists for working so hard on their pieces, it takes time and dedication to enter this competition. These young folks keep me going and are such a joy to work with!” said KDS DAR art teacher Zan Edmonds.
