KDS senior Lauren Buchanan has been named the 4A Region 7 Scholar Athlete by the Bryant-Jordan Scholarship Foundation. Lauren has played point guard on the Lady Patriot Varsity Basketball Team since her freshman year and is also a member of the KDS Track Team.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Lauren is also a stellar student, holding a 4.43 GPA and having scored 31 on the ACT. She will be attending Auburn University on academic scholarship in the fall to major in accounting. With this honor, Lauren also receives a $3,000 scholarship.
